In September of 2005, Hurricane Rita came ashore near the Texas/Louisiana border, very near the town of Orange, TX. Dr. Jon Schrage of the Creighton University Department of Atmospheric Sciences was particularly interested in this storm at the time because his mother, Linda Lindgren, lives in Orange.
