In today’s episode of Weather Break, Creighton University student Ross Caniglia continues his discussion about the kinds of details that need to be taken into consideration when making a thunderstorm forecast.  Today he focuses on the “cap”, also known as the “capping inversion”, which is a double-edged sword when it comes to thunderstorm forecasts.  Too strong of a cap, no storms.  Too weak of a cap, no storms.  Only a cap with the right strength makes severe weather possible.
